WDI Training and License Holding

WDI Training
In Texas, Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI) training is designed to ensure that inspectors and technicians understand how to properly identify, document, and report pests that can damage structural wood components—such as termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) oversees licensing and training requirements for WDI professionals, helping ensure that inspections meet state standards and protect consumers during real estate transactions and pest control services.

WDI training covers insect biology, identification, inspection techniques, structural risk factors, reporting procedures, and state regulations. Trainees learn how to perform the official Texas Official WDI Report (TDA Form) required in real estate transactions, along with safe practices for accessing crawlspaces, attics, and other components of a structure.

Upon completing the required coursework and state exam, technicians are qualified to conduct WDI inspections under a licensed pest control business, providing accurate findings and helping buyers, sellers, agents, and homeowners make informed decisions.

WDI Training Pricing
Our Texas WDI (Wood-Destroying Insect) training program is offered with two pricing options:

-
$500 – With a 2-Year License Hold Commitment
This discounted rate is available when the trainee agrees to maintain their WDI license under our company for a minimum of two years. -
$800 – Without Commitment
This option is available for trainees who prefer not to enter into a license hold agreement.
Both pricing tiers include:
✔ All training materials and textbooks
✔ Full WDI coursework
✔ State licensing fee through the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA)
This all-inclusive pricing ensures trainees receive everything needed to complete the program and become fully licensed to perform WDI inspections in Texas.

License Holding Agreement
As required by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), all WDI inspectors must operate under an active Pest Control Business License. Our License Holding Agreement provides a compliant, fully supported solution for inspectors who need a licensed entity to work under while performing Wood-Destroying Insect inspections.

ClearZone ensures full adherence to TDA rules and regulations, including proper oversight, recordkeeping, regulatory reporting, and quality-control measures. This allows inspectors to focus on their fieldwork while remaining in full compliance with state law.

License Holding Pricing Options

We offer three flexible tiers to support inspectors at every level:
-
$20 Per Report
Pay only when you submit a WDI report—ideal for low-volume or seasonal inspectors. -
$100 Per Month
Flat monthly fee with unlimited reports. Best for steady or moderate inspection volume. -
$1,000 Per Year
Annual plan offering the best long-term value for high-volume inspectors.
Our license holding service provides the oversight required by the state while giving inspectors the freedom to operate independently under a compliant structure.

Transferring an Existing WDI License
If you are already licensed with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) and need to transfer your WDI license to a new Pest Control Business (PCB), we make the process fast and compliant. Transferring your license allows you to continue performing Wood-Destroying Insect inspections under a new licensed entity while meeting all state oversight and recordkeeping requirements.

Our team ensures your transfer is processed correctly with TDA, including business association updates, documentation review, and verification of continuing education status. Once the transfer is complete, you may begin operating under our license holding structure immediately.
Whether you’re switching companies, becoming independent, or seeking better support, we help ensure your license transition is smooth, fully compliant, and completed according to TDA rules and regulations.
